Jan Lammers Jan Lammers Functie: Commercieel Directeur Organisatie: Circuit Zandvoort Bio: Jan Lammers is one of the world’s most versatile racing drivers with experience in all top levels of the motorsport. Starting in touring cars at the age of 16 he won his first National Championship in 1973. In 1978 he won the European Championship Formula 3, still as the only Dutchman to date. This promoted him to Formula One in 1979 with the uncompetitive Shadow Formula 1 team. In 1980 he scored a record 4thqualifying position during the USA GP F1 in Long Beach. This was a record for a Dutch racing driver and he held this record for 36 years until Max Verstappen finally broke it. Jan still holds the record in Formula 1 for the longest time for a comeback. He left F1 in 1982 and came back during the Japanese GP in 1992. Jan moved from Formula 1 to become an expert in Sportscar endurance racing winning 24 Hour races in Le Mans and Daytona for Jaguar. In 2002 and 2003 Jan won the FIA World Sportscar Championship as a driver with his own Racing for Holland team.

Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, Indycars, Sportscars, Rally’s with cars and trucks during the famous Dakar Rally, karting. Jan has done it all with great passion and enthusiasm.

At present Jan divides his time between being the Sporting Director for the 2020 Formula 1 GP in Zandvoort and coaching his son René in his early karting career.
